Yippee! April is here and By the Bay is now open seven days a week: 9.30am ’til 9.00pm for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and everything in between.
Spring is definitely in the air this month. And here at By the Bay we’re all ready to greet the new season with a delicious new menu. Our Spring / Summer 2017 menu includes all your favourites. And there’s also a number of mouth-watering new arrivals. These include succulent Dorset beef brisket served with a chestnut mushroom and port wine sauce, scrummy colcannon and spiced red cabbage. Also new this season are delicious oven baked fillets of sea bass served with chorizo and mussel risotto and cherry vine tomatoes.
There’s also an interesting update to our popular crab stack and a mouth-watering smoked mackerel starter that we know you’ll enjoy. And, of course, we’re still serving our ever-popular daily specials. These focus on fresh seasonal local produce and delicious fish dishes featuring our ‘Catch of the Day’. Children’s portions (also available for anyone with a smaller appetite and those smart enough to leave room for one of our delicious desserts) are always available and special diets are well catered for. The latter even includes a wide range of gluten-free options – so why not bring the family along and have a great meal out at By the Bay?
The fabulous family festival is back again this year, with the intriguing theme of ‘Time, Tide & Tectonics’. There will be walks, talks, theatre, music, comedy, exhibits and lots of hands-on science for everyone.
Bring the children along and meet all sorts of interesting people: scientists from the Natural History Museum, British Antarctic Survey, Paleontological Association, Natural England, Jurassic Coast Trust, Dorset Geologists, Geological Society, Lyme Regis Museum, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, National Trust, Dorset Wildlife Trust, National Oceanography Centre, Dinosaur Isle and many more.
The main hub of the festival will be based around the Marine Theatre – just a short stroll along Marine Parade from By the Bay, so bring the family along and fuel up with us during this ‘fun-tastic’ fossil weekend.
You can find out more about the fossil festival HERE.
