at the beach, Lyme Regis

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious hot chocolate to loose yourself in or a delightfully fizzy glass of chilled bubbles to toast a special occasion, we can help!

Our well-stocked kitchen and bar is ready for every eventuality, from a reviving builder’s brew to a fragrant, spicy glass of mulled wine – and everything in between. The terrace is the perfect summer spot to while away an hour soaking up the sun and watching the world go by with your favourite drink, while our inviting sofas and cosy interior with panoramic windows overlooking the bay provide an unparalleled haven from the winter weather: the perfect retreat for storm-watching and a welcome pick-me up!

We are happy for you to join us for a drink at any time of the day or evening – coffee and cake or afternoon tea with a cuppa are treats our regulars love at By the Bay and remember you’re welcome to join us for a glass of wine (or a pint of beer) and some nibbles (olives, perhaps?) any evening.

Please note that drinks will only be served with food orders between 11.30am & 3pm.

Our Supplier

We’re proud to say that St Austell Brewery supplies beer, lager, cider, soft drinks and fine wines to By the Bay.

St Austell Brewery

Founded in 1851 by Cornishman and wine merchant Walter Hick, St Austell Brewery is still 100% independent and family owned – brewing a fantastic range of characterful, award-winning beers and ales that today are exported around the world, and drawing on the skills and knowledge passed down through the generations to deliver our distinctive and delicious wine list.

While we are delighted to stock our favourite selection of St Austell ales, the wine team at St Austell also helps us to match the best, most delicious wines to our menu of fresh, seasonal dishes and we rely on their expertise and knowledge to bring you a great, affordable selection of red, white, rose and sparkling wines and champagne to accompany your meal and make your visit to By the Bay very special indeed.

We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
